Liang Guanglie meets veterans of Japanese nationality

 Liang Guanglie, state councilor and minister of national defense, met a visiting delegation composed of veterans of Japanese nationality in Beijing yesterday.
  Liang Guanglie said that the Chinese government and people highly praised and admired the former servicemen of Japanese nationality for their great contributions to China's cause of independence and liberation and their endeavor to boost the development of friendly relations between China and Japan. The Sino-Japanese relations have shown a sound momentum of development at present as evidenced by the fact that the relationship between the two countries stands at the new historical starting point. Both countries should treasure and cherish this achievement made by the joint efforts of the leaders and people with breadth of vision of the two counties. The Chinese side is willing to work together with its Japanese counterpart to enhance mutual trust and coordination and promote exchange and cooperation, so as to continue to deepen the development of the Sino-Japanese strategic and mutually beneficial relations to a new height.
  The representative of the veterans of Japanese nationality said they are willing to do more for the Sino-Japanese friendship.
  Jia Xiaoning, deputy director general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ministry of National Defense, was present at the meeting.
